Android gmail will not fetch attachments not downloading

I don't understand why it just stopped working, and so did a lot but a basic gmail app should not occure in a stock Android configuration.

Why does my Android phone only download mail on Wi-Fi networks, and not on no mail waiting, or it will download some parts of the mail but not attachments.

I'm stock (phone is not even unlocked). Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Btw, in a browser on my computer, I can download the attachments
